Google's Picasa
What is this?
According to MediaPost Google acquired Picasa, a digital photo management company, which has previously announced a partnership with Google's Blogger service aiming to improve the quality of Blogger's photo-publishing features. Last year, Google entered the blogging arena after acquiring Pyra Labs, which created the Blogger service.
Photo: Picasa 1.6 is free! Picasa 1.6 can be downloaded for free, which causes a dramatic rise in the number of visitors to Picasa's website. When Google placed a link to Picasa on the Google UK homepage on July 16th 2004, Picasa experienced a staggering 6,000% increase in visits among UK sites, according to NetImperative. Launching a new service this way surely works! It shows that Picasa (derived from Picasso?) is Google's latest step in bolstering 'the blogging experience'. So, what's next? |
