Saul Bellow: 1915 - 2005

Saul Bellow is one of the last of the great generation of American novelists who came of age in the immediate post-war years.

Saul Bellow was the first writer to win the National Book Award for fiction three times. He also won both the Pulitzer and Nobel prizes for literature in 1976 and was the first American to receive the International Literary Prize.

Saul Bellow, died April 5, 2005, at the age of 89.
